THINGS TO DO IN SINGAPORE With so many old friends in town for the wedding, we are organizing a half day tour for our overseas guests on Friday, 22 February 2002. As well as the usual tourist destinations we will also try and show you some parts of "real" Singapore. We will start close to the hotel with the Central Business District and Boat Quay and then drive past the colonial part of Singapore for a view of Padang, with the Cricket Club, the Parliament House, the City Hall and the Supreme Court. Then onto Chinatown passing by the Singapore Riverbanks; and maybe including a visit to the oldest Hindu Temple, of Sri Mariamman. Our next stop to Mount Faber will give a chance to admire some of the many islands part of the Riau archipelago (Indonesia) as well as a view of Sentosa island. Then on to the National Orchid Garden located within the beautiful Botanic Gardens, a chance to get closer to nature with hundreds of orchids. Next we will grab some lunch at one of Singapore's more unusual eating establishments. After lunch we will head down Orchard Road on the way back to the hotel. There's no pressure though, if you would rather ease the jetlag out of your system by the pool, that's fine with us! Organised

Nightlife Nightspots in Singapore tend to exist in clusters, making pub-hopping even easier. Some of the areas that come to life after dark are Chinatown, City Hall, Mohamed Sultan Road, The Quays and Orchard Road. Each caters to a different type of crowd so it's well worth doing some exploring. Most discos come with a cover charge, which usually includes one or two drinks, but most pubs or wine bars don't come with one. Some nightspots we recommend are: Bar
